For a service like Yola, you don't have to pay for the server space where all your information is stored. If you were to purchase your own domain (like mywebsite.com), you would need to purchase server space. Creating a site with Yola will result in a url of mywebsite.yolasite.com. You get to have a free website, they get to put their name in the url.
